Unleashing Power and Precision: Porsche's Revolutionary Taycan Turbo GT Shatters Records and Expectations

Porsche makes automotive history with the launch of its most potent production vehicle to date – the Taycan Turbo GT, accompanied by the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package. Expanding its illustrious lineup, Porsche introduces the apex predator of electric vehicles, the Taycan Turbo GT, redefining performance benchmarks and raising the bar for electric supercars worldwide.



This trailblazing EV has left its mark on iconic race circuits, including the Nurburgring Nordschleife and Laguna Seca, setting new standards with each lap. Most notably, Porsche's development driver, Lars Kern, piloted the Turbo GT to an electrifying record at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, California, clocking an astounding 1:27.8 minutes. To put this achievement in perspective, it eclipses the previous electric road car record by five seconds and falls merely three-tenths short of the legendary McLaren Senna's lap time.


Not content with just one record, the Taycan Turbo GT blazed its way to glory at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, Germany, establishing a new series-production electric car record with a blistering time of 7:07.55 minutes. This remarkable feat not only outpaces its predecessor, the Taycan Turbo S, by a staggering 26 seconds but also crowns the Turbo GT as the fastest four-door car, regardless of powertrain, to conquer the Nordschleife.


Behind these record-breaking performances lies an enhanced powertrain boasting new rear-axle motors, catapulting the Turbo GT to unparalleled levels of dynamic prowess. With 580kW (777hp) of continuous power, surging to 815kW (1,092hp) in brief overboost bursts, the Turbo GT accelerates from 0-100km/h in a mere 2.3 seconds (2.2 seconds for the Weissach package), reaching 0-200km/h in just 6.6 seconds (6.4 seconds for the Weissach package).


Efficiency meets exhilaration with both versions delivering up to 1,340Nm of torque and boasting an impressive claimed maximum range of 555km on a full charge of its 96kWh battery. Porsche's relentless pursuit of perfection extends to weight reduction, with the Turbo GT shedding up to 75kg compared to the Taycan Turbo S, thanks to carbon components and innovative design elements.


Opting for the Turbo GT with the Weissach package elevates performance to stratospheric levels, accompanied by substantial weight savings and enhanced aerodynamics. This exclusive package incorporates additional aerodynamic enhancements, such as a new front diffuser and fixed rear wing, generating up to 220kg of downforce.


Furthermore, the Weissach package's meticulous weight-saving measures trim approximately 70kg compared to the standard Turbo GT, accentuating its track-focused pedigree. Embracing a minimalist approach, Porsche replaces rear seats with lightweight carbon cladding and removes various non-essential components, including insulation material and even the analogue clock.


While local pricing for the Taycan Turbo GT remains forthcoming, with German prices starting at €240,000, anticipation mounts for Singaporean enthusiasts expecting a million-dollar marvel.
