Hyundai Debuts IONIQ 6 and Teases All-New KONA Hybrid in Singapore

Hyundai enthusiasts rejoice as the bold cyberpunk design seen in the IONIQ 5 continues with the latest unveilings in Singapore by the Korean automaker and local distributor Komoco.

Futuristic Evolution: IONIQ 6 and Next-Gen KONA Hybrid The IONIQ 6, Hyundai's ground-breaking electric saloon built on the E-GMP platform, mirrors the retro-futuristic design language introduced in the IONIQ 5. Featuring a 77.4 kWh battery and dual motor setup, delivering 321 bhp and 605 Nm of torque to all wheels, the IONIQ 6 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 5.1 seconds, offering a remarkable 519-kilometer range on a single charge. Its futureproof capabilities shine with DC charging at up to 350 kW, setting a new standard for rapid recharging.

The IONIQ 6's sleek design, slightly elongated yet exhibiting a shorter wheelbase and roofline compared to its hatchback predecessor, epitomizes Hyundai's commitment to evolving the cyberpunk aesthetic.

Simultaneously, Hyundai introduced the revamped KONA Hybrid, exuding maturity and sophistication in its second generation. With clean, futuristic styling setting it apart from competitors, the KONA Hybrid elevates the compact crossover segment's standards. Featuring a 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain delivering 139 bhp and 265 Nm of torque coupled with a six-speed DCT transmission, the KONA Hybrid promises a refined driving experience.

Anticipating the Future Lineup While the specifics for the KONA Electric remain undisclosed, expectations align with global standards, foreseeing a 64.8 kWh battery pack and potential modifications for Category A COE eligibility upon local debut later this year.

As Hyundai continues to redefine automotive innovation, these unveilings signify a thrilling evolution in electric and hybrid technology, cementing the brand's commitment to futuristic design and sustainable mobility.

Stay tuned for updates on the KONA Electric's local debut and specifications, promising an electrifying addition to Hyundai's impressive lineup in Singapore's automotive landscape.
